Then, the games began.

The champions [yeah, sure...] came and performed, one after the other.

The Jurors suffered in silence

Until it was concluded that...

... it was best to restart with a blank slate...

... even though the underpinnings were strong,

... and there was still some light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.
